Katee Freeman
Social Development Director
“I have been working at the Boys & Girls Club for four years. When I was given the opportunity to work here, I had no idea that it would make such a difference in my life. My purpose here is to be someone the kids can depend on whether it’s helping them make the right decisions or helping them feel more comfortable with who they are. I know that everyone has their own special something to give to this world and I encourage the youth to let their special something shine. I think it’s great that kids have somewhere to go outside of their household where they feel appreciated and are remembered always. This gives them a sense of belonging which every kid needs no matter how young or old.”

Kathy Wilcox
Creative Arts Director
Kathy is from Southern California she came to Santa Cruz to attend the University of California Santa Cruz where she graduated with a BA in Psychology in June 2008.
She began working for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz as the Front Desk Supervisor in November 2008 and was promoted to the full time Creative Arts Director in October 2009.
As the Creative Arts Director, she introduces children to new ways they can express themselves creatively. "Because I grew up attending after school programs during the school year and city run programs all summer, I know how much time kids can spend with adults outside of the home and how important other role models can be to children. I try to keep this in mind every time I interact with a child and hope that I can help them feel more confident and excited about themselves and the world around them."
